Need Treatment? If you have contacted
1-877-664-2248
(State Office for Addictive Disorders) and have not been able to get help
for an alcohol or other
drug problem please contact us:

**Meeting "Storm Addiction, Support Recovery" planned for April 1, 2006**
Get involved in the peoples work to change a long broken response to
alcohol/other drug problems in Louisiana.
**11/30/05***
Odyssey House, New Orleans
is OPEN> They are doing intakes for the GNO
area***
Louisiana OAD
(state/federal funded services) and they have given you a clinic that is
closed or no other viable solution for immediate help we can assist in
providing resources that
are available today to help for those who need impatient care for
addiction treatment.
We are not aware of any expanded services but know it is
being "worked on" and we will pass this on as soon as we know
more.
We know that our state system before Katrina
provided only 8% of those in need of treatment with help, and now that
need is growing. In addition after hours, 24hr impatient treatment,
medical detox, waiting lists, or evening/weekend needs are emerging
as a problem. We can can help with a referral to treatment center
that should be able to pre-screen and admit you asap--they will also pay
for transportation to and from their facilities. We are so grateful
for this help.

Amazing
love and support from Recovering people and supporters,
has brought an incredible amount of literature to Louisiana and impacted
areas. People mobilized across the country very quickly, within
hours, to send literature to aid in relief efforts, volunteers have
assisted in bringing literature to
shelters during
both hurricanes.
More than 30 days after Katrina,
trailers provided by FEMA, are becoming available, and clean up
efforts are underway, the extra literature we have will be sent to
treatment/ recovery programs in the impacted region. If your
program, or community is in need of Recovery Literature
contact us and we will get it right to you.
Great Book, Great Man!
Dr.
Mooney and Ken drive to Louisiana from NC to lend a hand in our collective
efforts to reach those in urgent need for Detox services. After
tremendous efforts to persuade folks to provide space in areas of need he
finally secured a location in Baton Rouge more information is available on
how to access these and other services that are available with no waiting
lists.
