Experience shows success in sobriety is achieved in direct proportion to the amount of time spent in rehabilitation. Through its long-term residential treatment program, Bridge House offers clients in recovery the time needed to become sober and productive individuals again.

The Bridge House treatment program, which is based on the disease concept of addiction, is intensive and highly structured. Clients reside in a dormitory setting and progress through several phases of treatment: primary, independent living and continuing care. Through these steps the previously disordered and dysfunctional individual begins to regain his/her self-esteem and develop a sense of self-worth

To facilitate positive change in the lives of the addicted by teaching them to practice the principles of recovery and enabling them to become productive citizens.

Offer therapeutic work environment that teaches clients discipline, ethics and basic job skills.

    Admissions of Clients:
Bridge House accepts males aged 18 and over who are able to admit to having substance abuse problems and are seeking help.  It is recommended that the average client who comes to Bridge House for treatment remain at least a year.  Our history has shown that clients who stay a year or more have the greatest potential for continued sobriety.

As a client enters the Bridge House program he participates in a Stabilization period during which he is provided with an opportunity to become familiar with the daily routines of Bridge House.  The new client participates in an introduction to recovery through groups and videos presented throughout the day.  As a client moves into primary care, an individualized treatment plan is created to provide the client with the appropriate skills to facilitate his ability to develop the habits of recovery and promote positive changes and growth in recovery.  As a client demonstrates an ability to apply the tools of recovery while remaining abstinent he is allowed to secure outside employment and enter 3rd Step, Bridge House's Independent Living Program.  Here a client lives in a Bridge House satellite house with 3 other clients and pays a portion of his salary as client service fees.  He continues to attend Intensive Outpatient services and lives in a structured environment.

A continuing care program of aftercare activities and weekly meetings are in place for those close to completion and to those who have graduated from the Bridge House treatment program.
