In a study examining alcohol and interpersonal
violence, results showed approximately one-half of all violent
episodes are drug related. Alcohol is the drug most often associated
with violence.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 55% of
people convicted and jailed for violent crimes had used alcohol or
drugs at the time of the offense.
