not in organized religious systems, but in you and in me."
J. Krishnamurti

Poverty, Illiteracy, Incarceration

Social Ills, directly impacting our communities, with unbelievable costs, both in the lives lost, and dollars spent.  At the root of this plague, is America's number one public health problem, Addiction.
This brain disease impacts  1 in 4 Americans

Substance Abuse and the crisis we face in need for treatment and prevention services must be realized, and addressed.  We must stop the cycle, and reach to those suffering with hope.

Always Hope.

Always  Hope!

There must be hope.  Join our network as we begin this journey into healing, through  today's most hopeful tool, Technology!   There are countless support agencies in place all over the country, in every county (parish), and  state.  We believe that connecting these agencies, and empowering their individual outreach and mission, is key to maximize the resources available for those in need in the communities they serve.

Technology and hope, many of these organizations, do not have computers, and  no idea how to utilize the power and resource that technology delivers.  HopeNetworks exist for that sole purpose, to introduce, and or expand the role technology plays in healing communities.  For more information please contact us Info@HopeNetworks.org in addition to completing the registration and profile that will be shared with those seeking services.

What we hope to accomplish

Networking organizations in communities to collaborate, and empower each other in an effort to reduce the social ills, fiscal costs, and  loss of lives,  that our states and their communities face as a result of rampant cycles of addiction. More than $400 Billion dollars was paid by tax payers  last year alone.

Sharing and Networking often overlooked data, resources, and strategies for common solutions

Functioning as a tool for communities, empowering grass-roots advocacy, research, treatment-recovery, prevention, public and private sectors alike, to connect and unite.
Communities have service organizations in place, that are focused certain issues or needs, because Addiction Recovery needs and related social ills are best supported with comprehensive services at the community gateway (Read the National Treatment Plan) it is our hope to enable that process.  We believe that with the existing organizations, it is a matter of efficiency to maximize service delivery to the individual in need,  thus networking need, resource, and action.

Why we believe Treatment, Recovery Support, and Prevention make good sense to communities.

Common Sense,  Prevention is more cost effective than all else.  Money saved and not used for  "clean up" efforts of a preventable disease, makes sense. If we are treating and preventing substance abuse, we also will find a decline in community crime, studies have shown that substance abuse is related to more than 60% of all crimes committed.   If we are able to reduce state spending on clean up, then  monies become available for  improving community concerns,  like Public Health, Public Education,  Public Highways,  etc.   which we know spurs economic development in communities.  Healthier communities, mean healthier people, and therefore a healthier more productive workforce.

Support for Recovery Saves loss of life and dollars

STAGGERING COSTS-The Socioeconomic impact of addiction.  Addiction brings a $414 billion socioeconomic impact to the U.S. each year, this  includes increased health care costs, destruction of property, workplace losses (absenteeism, loss of productivity, employee turnover) . That is a staggering amount of money to spend cleaning up consequences of a disease that responds to treatment and preventions services.  This does not reflect the gut wrenching pain that those impacted experience, the paid of children with parents suffering from addictive disorders, the mothers, fathers, neighbors, employers, all feeling helpless and hopeless.

Communities and Family  Addiction is complex, the impact reaches far beyond the addict, or the addict's community alone.  From the employer with an alcoholic, to the the employee working for an employer who is an alcoholic, to the woman who has left 4 kids in an apartment for days turning tricks for crack, it is all the same disease, manifesting in a host of situations, in our communities.  Tax payers are footing the expense.  Incarceration, illiteracy, and poverty are growing as treatment services are declining.  How can communities, states, our country, even consider economic development, when our tax dollars are occupied by the costs of social ills plaguing our streets, forest fire management simply allows us to remain in denial and avoid real change, that brings real hope.  Band-aids won't hold this wound much longer.  The cycle of addiction in part supports unhealthy expensive communities, while hindering growth and productivity.  There is hope for all, those living in communities that suffer from a lack of effective treatment services, are needed as much in our efforts as those impacted directly by this disease, know one of us has not had some effect in our lives in some way, and no one of us can repair this dysfunctional system that exists, but together, there are no limits to what we can do in our communities, and with the tools and resources we are building, and the innovation by countless others, expect the impossible!

Profiling community assistance and service organizations as well as individuals willing to volunteer and give service, to the general  public seeking resources is where you start on this journey.

Initially  we are building an information and education campaign in an effort to reduce the stigma, those seeking Addiction-Recovery services experience.  We have also begun expanding resources in Louisiana to include mental health, and other public health issues that too often parallel.  We would like to provide service directories localized to meet the needs of the community and individuals they are to support.
