Sunday was really scary here,
like a plague that calls to let you know she will be in at dawn.
That is the feeling of fear for those you know can't or won't move out her
way. My children, knew we were preparing for something that might be
frightening, they saw the television radar, and went with me to gather
supplies to weather the storm. Katrina's fury for the gulf coast was
clear as she got closer, and I felt anxiety and peace all in the same
moments finishing her portrait the night before we woke to her knock at
our door. |
